Model history

The first generation 3008 was available in Germany between June 2009 and October 2016 and competes with the VW Golf Plus and the Mercedes B-Class as well as the Opel Meriva . It is only available as a five-seater. Based on the same platform as the 308, the 3008 is between 308 and 308 SW in length and wheelbase, but is wider and significantly higher.

At the beginning it was only delivered with front-wheel drive , since March 2011 an all-wheel drive version with diesel hybrid drive has been available.

Facelift

In October 2013, the 3008 was visually redesigned. It now has the same family design as the recently renewed 308 .

Vehicle characteristics

The 3008 was equipped with ESP and Brake Assist (EBA) as standard. The interior largely corresponded to that of the 5008 and its structure is reminiscent of the cockpit of an airplane. A 1.60 m² panoramic glass roof was installed at an additional cost. There was also a head-up display in the 3008 . The intelligent traction control known as Grip Control and dynamic roll compensation were also subject to a surcharge .

The trunk , which is accessible through a two-part tailgate , holds between 432 and 1604 liters. The C w value is 0.3. In addition, the 3008 had an electric parking brake , rain and light sensors as standard . In addition to the standard start-up assistant , various parking aids were available as special equipment.

Equipment lines

Four lines were available for the 3008: Access , Active , Allure and Business Line . The basic Access version with the 88 kW petrol engine cost € 22,350, the most expensive Business Line model with a 110 kW diesel engine € 28,571, with a six-speed automatic transmission and the 120 kW diesel engine € 31,971 (basic prices in Germany, as of 17. April 2012). The diesel hybrid was available as the HYbrid4 99g for € 34,150, and as the HYbrid4 with a standard navigation system for € 36,150. From May 2012, there was also the Roland Garros special model, limited to 350 units , whose main distinguishing feature from the other models is the darkened bi-xenon headlights.

Engines

In addition to the base, the engines of the model 308 were used, but only to a limited extent; the engines that were available were optimized. There was a choice of two petrol and three diesel engines . The 1.6-liter gasoline engines have an output of 88 or 115 kW (120 and 156 hp). The diesel engines have outputs of 82, 110 and 120 kW (112, 150 and 163 hp). A weaker diesel engine with 80 kW (109 PS) only met the Euro 4 standard and was replaced in 2010 by a version with 82 kW (112 PS) which, like all the others, also meets the Euro 5 emissions standard. From February 2015, the well-known e-THP 130 was also used in the Peugeot 3008, it meets the EURO 6 standard.

The 1.6-liter HDi FAP diesel was offered with a manual 6-speed gearbox as well as an automated gearbox . This EGS6 eliminates the need for the clutch pedal and, with its two modes “manual” or “automatic”, offers a low-cost alternative to classic automatic transmissions . In manual mode, gear changes are made by operating the gearshift lever or by rocking the switch behind the steering wheel. In the automated mode, this transmission, thanks to its electronic management that is optimized for the shift change torque, allows a reduction in fuel consumption compared to traditional manual transmissions. As a result, the 1.6-liter diesel achieves a consumption value of 4.9 l / 100 km in a mixed cycle, which corresponds to CO 2 emissions of 130 g / km. From March 2010 there was also a 2.0-liter model with automatic transmission and 110 kW output.

The Peugeot 3008 was available from March 2011 as a vehicle with a diesel hybrid drive - initially in a limited edition  . The 2.0 HDi engine with 1997 cc and 120 kW (163 hp) output was used as the basis, which drives the 3008 together with a 27 kW (37 hp) electric motor . The diesel drive only affects the front axle, the electric drive only the rear axle. From September 2011 the hybrid model was available in two different versions ( HYbrid4 99g and HYbrid4 ). The average consumption is 3.8 or 4.0 l / 100 km, the CO 2 emissions are 99 or 104 g / km. The sale of the hybrid version in Germany was stopped in March 2015.

At the end of May 2016, Peugeot presented the second generation of the 3008, the public world premiere took place in autumn 2016 at the Paris Motor Show . The vehicle came to the dealerships on October 29, 2016. The Opel Grandland X is also based on the second generation .

In China , the second generation replaced the Peugeot 4008 . Since the first generation of the 3008 is still available there and was even revised again in mid-2016, the 3008 II is also sold in China as the Peugeot 4008.

The second generation was the first SUV ever to win the European Car of the Year 2017 award .

At the Mondial de l'Automobile in October 2018, Peugeot presented a plug-in hybrid version of the 3008, which has been available since September 2019. With a system output of 165 kW (225 hp), the variant called hybrid is the weaker model. It has front-wheel drive and is also used in the Peugeot 508 II . The Hybrid4 has a system output of 220 kW (300 hp), making it the most powerful series-produced Peugeot model. An electric motor is also located on the rear axle, which means that all four wheels can be driven. This drive is also used in the DS 7 Crossback .
