Peugeot type 16

The Peugeot Type 16 is an early car model of the French car manufacturer Peugeot , 87 of which were produced at the Audincourt plant from 1897 to 1900 .

The vehicles had a two - cylinder four-stroke engine made in-house , which was arranged horizontally in the rear and powered the rear wheels via a chain. The engine developed between 5 and 8 hp .

With a wheelbase of 155 cm and a track width of 131 cm at the front and 128 cm at the rear, the vehicle length was 245 cm and the vehicle height was 145 cm. The vis-à-vis body shape offered space for four people. In the version with a roof, the dimensions differ slightly.
