The Peugeot Type 8 is an early car model of the French car manufacturer Peugeot , of which 18 copies were produced at the Valentigney plant from 1893 to 1896 .

The vehicles had a two - cylinder four-stroke engine with glow ignition from Panhard & Levassor under license from Daimler. It produced between 3 and 3.75 hp from a displacement of 1282 cm³. It was arranged in the rear and powered the rear wheels via chains.

With a wheelbase of 161 cm and a track width of 129 cm at the front and 131 cm at the rear, the vehicle length was 275 cm, the vehicle width 150 cm and the vehicle height 220 cm. The Victoria and Phaëtonnet body styles offered space for four people. One copy each is exhibited in the Peugeot Museum Sochaux (Victoria) and in the Cité de l'Automobile / Collection Schlumpf Mulhouse (Phaëtonnet).
