The Peugeot Type 183 is a car model of the French car manufacturer Peugeot , of which 12,636 copies were produced in the Audincourt and Sochaux plants from 1927 to 1931 .

The vehicles had a six - cylinder four-stroke engine , which was arranged at the front and propelled the rear wheels via cardan shafts. The engine developed from 1991 cc displacement 38 hp for the 183 and 183 A models, 42 hp for the 183 C model and 47 hp for the 183 D model.

The models 183 and 183 A had a wheelbase of 299.2 cm and a track width of 130.5 cm at the front and 132 cm at the rear, a vehicle length of 458 cm, a vehicle width of 160 cm and a vehicle height of 180 cm. The body shapes inside handlebar, coupé-convertible and all-weather convertible offered space for four to seven people. The models 183 C and 183 D had the same wheelbase and the same vehicle length, a track width of 131.1 cm at the front and 132.4 cm at the rear, a vehicle width of 155 cm and a vehicle height of 178 cm. Inner handlebars, torpedoes, faux cabriolets and convertibles with four to five seats were available.
