The Peugeot Type 78 is an early car model of the French car manufacturer Peugeot , of which 261 copies were produced at the Audincourt plant in 1906 .

The vehicles had a two - cylinder four-stroke engine , which was arranged at the front and powered the rear wheels via a chain. The engine developed 10 HP from a displacement of 1817 cm³ .

There were models 78 A and 78 B. With a wheelbase of either 230 cm or 265 cm, the track width was 135 cm. The tonneau and double phaeton body styles offered space for four people.
