The Toyota Peugeot Citroen Automobile Czech, sro , abbreviated TPCA , is an automobile manufacturer with headquarters in the Czech Ovčáry in Kolín .

history

The company was founded in 2002 as a joint venture between the automobile manufacturers PSA and Toyota (each with a 50% stake). An initial investment of 1.3 billion euros is assumed. The company started production in February 2005. Around 3,000 to 3,500 employees work in two shifts to build the largely identical small cars Citroën C1 , Peugeot 107 (later replaced by the 108 ) and Toyota Aygo in the same number of pieces. The plant is based on the Toyota production system.

The theoretical annual production capacity of 300,000 vehicles was only about two-thirds full in 2015, 2016 and 2017. 99 percent of the production is exported.
