The Citroën C1 is a miniature car from Citroën designed primarily for the European market . The four-seater with three or five doors came on the market in July 2005.

The C1 is 90 percent identical to the Toyota Aygo and the Peugeot 107 . The three cars were built at the Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile (TPCA) plant in Kolín (Czech Republic). Of the three models, the C1 had the lowest basic price, which is partly due to its lower standard equipment: For example, the power steering of the basic Citroën C1 Advance model was an optional extra for 390 euros (2009), while it is standard on the Peugeot and Toyota. The better equipped model Citroën C1 Style has power steering and some visual enhancements in addition to electric windows, central locking and a split rear seat bench. An automated 5-speed manual transmission SensoDrive is optionally available, as are head airbags and ESP .
The Citroën was on the German market until December 2008 in addition to the 1.0-liter petrol engine (three-cylinder engine with 998 cm³ from the Daihatsu Sirion ) with 50 kW (68 PS) and a 40 kW (54 PS) 1.4- Liter diesel engine (four-cylinder engine from PSA Peugeot Citroën ) available, which has not been offered in Germany since 2013.
The C1 with a petrol engine achieved second place in the VCD 2005/2006 environmental car list together with the identical models from Toyota and Peugeot. In the years that followed, the three sister models were also able to place themselves as the best non-hybrid vehicles .
The tailgate consists of a frameless rear window .
Facelift
In December 2008 the C1 was subjected to a slight revision; the engine has also been modified in favor of slightly lower fuel consumption.
Another revised model appeared in the spring of 2012, in which the change was more extensive than in the model update that took place at the end of 2008.
For example, the upper part of the radiator grille at the front was provided with a chrome clip, and the C1 now has LED daytime running lights that are installed vertically in black bezels. The Citroën emblem, which has now been reduced in size, is affixed in a black frame below the bonnet. A new steering wheel and improved materials are used in the interior.
The modified C1 came onto the German market in March 2012 at a starting price of 9450 euros.
Citroën C1 ev'ie
Since the beginning of May 2009, the Citroën C1 ev'ie has been on sale in Great Britain from Electric Car Corporation Plc (ECC). This is a model that has been converted from an internal combustion engine to an electric motor. The top speed is around 100 km / h, the range around 95 to 120 kilometers. The charging time at a normal socket is about six hours.

The Citroën C1 II is a small car that succeeded the first C1 I in the Citroën model range.
The vehicle was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014 . Two months later, production began in Kolin (Czech Republic), where the C1 II, like its predecessor, is produced together with the sister models Peugeot 108 and Toyota Aygo . The C1 was revised in April 2018.

Registration numbers
Since the market launch in 2005 up to and including December 2019, 131,510 Citroën C1s have been newly registered in the Federal Republic of Germany. 2009 was the most successful sales year with 22,367 units. This is due to the environmental bonus .
