From autumn 2009 there was the 5008 model from the sister company Peugeot on the same platform.
In spring 2018, Citroën announced that it would label all vans with the additional name SpaceTourer . Since then, the vehicle has been marketed as the C4 SpaceTourer and Grand C4 SpaceTourer .

The first generation was presented as a world premiere at the Mondial de l'Automobile from September 15 to 30, 2006. In March 2007, the five-seat model was introduced. The seven-seater has since been sold as the Grand C4 Picasso and is also available as a five-seater.
particularities
A special feature is the panorama windshield, which protrudes into the roof and extends the viewing angle from the normal 35 degrees to 70 degrees. A blind can be pulled out as a glare protection. There is also an optionally available panoramic glass roof over one square meter. An electric parking brake , which applies automatically when the engine is switched off, and an optional automated and electrohydraulic six-speed manual transmission ( EGS6 ) create more space between the front seats, as the gear lever and handbrake lever are omitted.
The pneumatic suspension on the rear axle (only in the Exclusive equipment) should ensure a high level of driving comfort and ensure that the ground clearance always remains constant even with a high load. Also known from the Citroën C4 , the interior perfume dispenser is used here. The AFIL lane departure warning system warns the driver by vibrating in the seat if he crosses a lane marking without having activated the indicator. There is also an optional parking space detector that detects a suitable parking space and indicates the difficulty of the parking maneuver.
Another new feature on the C4 Picasso is an automatic fuel filler flap that opens at the push of a button and replaces the screw cap with a flap cap. The optionally available automatic air conditioning has a “rest function” of the ventilation system, which remains active for up to eight minutes when the engine is switched off, depending on the battery charge level.
Equipment and prices in Germany
A total of three equipment variants were available, from the simple basic model to the luxurious top model: Advance, Tendance and Exclusive. Prices started at € 21,350 (C4 Picasso Advance) and € 22,550 (Grand C4 Picasso Tendance) and ended at € 32,350 for the HDi 135 Exclusive diesel engine model (without special equipment).
From the market launch in autumn 2006 to mid-2007, a fourth or fifth configuration was also available: Comfort or Style. However, these were withdrawn from the market as they largely corresponded to the Advance or Tendance equipment.
Facelift
In September 2010, the C4 Picasso and Grand Picasso underwent a facelift. In addition, a gasoline engine (1.6 THP with 115 kW) and two diesel engines (1.6 HDi with 82 kW and 2.0 HDI with 120 kW) were revised or introduced.
