The DS 5 is a passenger car belonging to PSA's French brand Citroën or its sub-brand DS Automobiles . The vehicle was presented in April 2011 (Citroën DS5) at the Shanghai Auto Show . In the home market of France it was available from November 24, 2011, while it was introduced in Germany on March 3, 2012.
In Sochaux , production of the DS 5 was stopped in May 2018, in Shenzhen , China , it was built until 2019.
history
The DS 5 is conceptually a mixture of different vehicle types. Technically it corresponds in part to the compact van Peugeot 3008 , but is 16 cm longer and 13 cm shallower.
Part of Citroën's second model line, the DS line, the DS 5 has a particularly high-quality design. This is reflected, among other things, in the extensive equipment options. Thanks to a sporty set-up, the vehicle, uncharacteristically Citroën, rolls off rather “woodenly”, which has led to criticism in many specialist publications. The particularly comfortable hydropneumatics typical of the Citroën brand are not available for the DS5 because, in the opinion of Citroën, they are incompatible with the sporty character of the DS 5.
The DS 5 served in a particularly environmentally friendly Hybrid4 variant as the state limousine of French President François Hollande .
Facelift
A facelift was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015. Since then the model has been marketed as the DS5. The headlights were modernized and some controls of the infotainment system on the center console were omitted, the function of which is now taken over by a new touch display.
The THP 165 also replaces the two previous gasoline models THP 155 and THP 200.
Technical specifications
In addition to the engines used in the DS4 , there is a diesel hybrid with 147 kW (200 PS) and CO 2 emissions of 99 g / km, which corresponds to a consumption of 3.8 l / 100 km, which is also used in this form in the Peugeot -Models 3008 and 508 is offered. In November 2012, the consumption of this model was reduced to 3.5 l / 100 km.
