The Citroën C3 Picasso was a car model from the French car brand Citroën that was presented at the Mondial de l'Automobile in October 2008.
The 4.08-meter-long minivan based on the PF1 - platform of the Peugeot 207 and the end of 2009 introduced the second generation of the C3 . After the Xsara Picasso , the C8 and the C4 Picasso , it was the brand's fourth van. Up to 110,000 vehicles of the C3 Picasso were to be built in the Slovakian plant in Trnava every year.
The market launch took place in March 2009. In summer 2017, the second generation of the Citroën C3 Aircross replaced the C3 Picasso.
General
The spatial concept was based on competing models such as the Opel Meriva , Renault Grand Modus or Nissan Note . The luggage compartment has a trunk volume of 385 to 1506 liters. In addition, the split and tilt-adjustable rear bench seat can be moved 15 centimeters and folded down to create a flat loading area. The latter can be extended once more by folding down the front passenger seat. As in other Citroën vehicles, a digital central speedometer is used in the cockpit. In addition to ESP , the safety equipment also includes ASR and six airbags.
The exterior design of the five-seater is characterized by curves and black bumper strips. A special feature were the split A-pillars, which gave the impression of a panoramic windscreen. Together with the optional panoramic glass roof, all panes form a glass area of 4.52 square meters.
Facelift 2013
A modified C3 Picasso was offered from January 2013.
In the course of the facelift, a redesigned bumper and a modified radiator grille were used. The Citroën double angle now extended to the headlights in the form of a chrome-plated clip. LED daytime running lights were installed under the fog lights. On the technical side, the output of the larger diesel engine, now marketed as the HDi 115, has been increased by 2 kW.
Engines
The engine range comprised four engine versions; two in cooperation with BMW resulting gasoline engines with 1.4-liters and 70 kW (95 hp) and a 1.6 liter engine with 88 kW (120 hp). The diesel engine was a 1.6-liter common rail version with a particle filter and 68 kW (92 hp) or 82 kW (112 hp), the output of which had increased to 84 kW (114 hp) as part of the facelift. All engines except the HDi 110 / HDi 115 (from 2011 six-speed transmission) were combined with a five-speed manual transmission as standard . From June 2012 the VTi 95 was also available as a liquid gas model. In this model the petrol tank holds 50 liters, the overpressure tank for the liquid gas is 33 liters.
