The C-Airplay was a concept vehicle that Citroën presented to the public in 2005 at the Bologna Motor Show . According to a press release, Citroën wanted to connect passengers closely with the environment with the futuristic microcar. This is probably why the large air vents "convertible feeling" and transparent door panels should be closer together ?? convey to the street. Additional panes were used in the lower area of the side doors, while a panoramic roof with a removable middle section in the direct transition to the large windshield made the interior appear light and airy and also offered an almost unrestricted all-round view.

In the interior, predominantly light-colored materials prevailed and the vehicle floor was also completely painted in white. The front bench and the two rear emergency seats were made of red silicone. The dashboard was also red. However, all important controls and fittings were grouped on the fixed hub of the steering wheel.

The chassis came from the Citroën C2 or was also a shortened platform of the Citroën C3 . The 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 80 kW also came from this . Power was transmitted by means of an automated gearbox , operated via steering wheel paddles on the front wheels. The newly introduced automatic start-stop system has also been adopted from the C3 .
