The Citroën C-Elysée WTCC is a racing car from the Citroën brand that was developed for use in the 2014 World Touring Car Championship . The code name of the vehicle is M43 . In July 2013 the vehicle was presented and subjected to the first driving tests. The vehicle was also shown at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main in September 2013.

The racing car is based on the Citroën C-Elysée notchback sedan . The body is reinforced and has a welded and multi-braced roll cage . It consists of steel and fiber composite materials .

The engine was throttled to around 224 kW (300 PS) in the DS3 WRC .

Driver and Results

In the 2014 World Touring Car Championship , Citroën Total WTCC fielded three vehicles throughout the season, in which the French Sébastien Loeb and Yvan Muller and the Argentinian José María López , who became World Touring Car Champion in 2014, competed. A fourth vehicle was also used for Ma Qinghua on four race weekends . The drivers Muller and Loeb took 2nd and 3rd place in the drivers' championship .

In 2015 the three drivers were able to repeat this success . In the 2016 World Touring Car Championship , the drivers of the two participating vehicles also achieved first and second place.
