The World Touring Car Championship in 2016 (officially FIA World Touring Car Championship in 2016 , shortly WTCC) was the 13th season of the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) and the twelfth since the resumption of the series of 2005.

World championship stands

Driver ranking

The driver who has accumulated the most points in the drivers' standings by the end of the season will be world champion. When distributing points for the drivers' ranking, the placements are taken into account in the overall result of the respective race. The top ten drivers in each race receive points according to the following scheme:
