Career
Michelisz's motorsport career began quite unusual. Lacking the budget for a real racing career, Michelisz competed in Grand Prix Legends races on the Internet and was discovered by the Hungarian racing driver Gábor Wéber . He recommended him to team owner Zoltán Zengõ, who enabled him to take a test on the Hungaroring in 2005 , which Michelisz convinced. In 2006 he got a cockpit in the Hungarian Suzuki Swift Cup , which he won straight away. The following year, Michelisz became champion in the Hungarian Renault Clio Cup . In 2008 he competed in the Seat Leon Cup . While he finished 14th overall in the Eurocup , he was runner-up in the Hungarian Cup. He also made his debut in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) in a Seat Leon TFSI from Sunred Engineering . In 2009 Michelisz competed again in the Seat Leon Eurocup and won the championship that year. He also came third in the Spanish Seat Leon Supercopa and in the European Touring Car Cup . In addition, he again took part in a WTCC race weekend for Sunred Engineering.
Although Michelisz started again in five races of the Spanish Seat Leon Supercopa in 2010 and finished 23rd in the overall standings, his main focus this season was on the WTCC. For his old team Zengõ Motorsport , he started in a Seat Leon 2.0 TDI . Michelisz took part in all races for the first time. After he was third on the podium for the first time in Mimasaka , he won his first race in the WTCC at the season finale in Macau and thus also became the first Hungarian winner of an FIA world championship run. He finished the season as the best newcomer in ninth place overall. In 2011 he entered the WTCC for the second race weekend in a BMW 320 TC for the Zengő-Dension Team. With a second place as the best result, he was again in ninth place in the world championship at the end of the season. In 2012 Michelisz completed another season in the WTCC. Wéber was his teammate in a few races. He achieved a victory on the Hungaroring. He was also on the podium in two other races. In the world championship he improved to sixth place. In 2012 he also competed in two races in the Superstars International Series .
In 2013 , Zengõ Motorsport switched to a Honda Civic WTCC . Michelisz won in Suzuka and achieved a total of seven podium finishes. He finished the season one more time in sixth place overall. In 2014 Michelisz missed a race win at Zengõ Motorsport. All but one time he made it into the top 10. He achieved four podium finishes and improved to fourth place in the drivers' standings. In 2015 Michelisz competed for Zengõ Motorsport in the World Touring Car Championship. He won a race on the Hungaroring. He finished sixth in the drivers' championship.
