Gábor Wéber

Gábor Wéber (born December 4, 1971 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian racing driver . He won the Hungarian Renault Clio Cup in 2003 and 2004 and won the SEAT Leon Eurocup in 2010 . He will start in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) in 2012 .

Career

Wéber began his motorsport career in touring car racing in 2002 for Zengõ Motorsport in the Hungarian Opel Astra Classic Cup , which he finished in fifth place. In the next season he took part in two races in this series and won one of them. His main focus, however, was on the Hungarian Renault Clio Cup , which he won with ten wins from twelve races. He also started a race in the Porsche Supercup in 2003 . Wéber competed in the Hungarian Renault Clio Cup for the next three seasons and was second overall after another championship title in 2005 and 2006. In 2007 he took part in a race in this category and won it.

In 2007, however, his main focus was on the Hungarian SEAT Leon Cup , which he finished as runner-up. In 2008 Wéber started for Zengõ Motorsport in the SEAT Leon Eurocup . He won a race and finished eleventh overall. Internally, he prevailed against his team colleague Norbert Michelisz , whose discoverer he was. Wéber also took part in seven out of ten races in the Hungarian SEAT Leon Cup. He won two and was seventh overall. In 2009, Wéber only competed in two SEAT Leon Eurocup races. He achieved a second place. His teammate Michelisz won the championship title. In 2010, Wéber completed the entire SEAT Leon Eurocup season. He won three races and won the championship with 48 to 42 points ahead of Michaël Rossi . After the SEAT Leon Eurocup was discontinued at the end of 2010, Wéber Zengõ left Motorsport and started in 2011 for TAC Race Solutions in the German SEAT Leon Supercopa . He finished the season fifth overall.

In 2012 Wéber returned to Zengõ Motorsport and took part in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) for the first time in a BMW 320 TC . In contrast to his team-mate Michelisz, who completes the entire season, Wéber is only used in the European races. After the second race weekend, eleventh place was his best result.
