René Münnich (born May 6, 1977 in Löbau ) is a German automobile racing driver , racing team owner and entrepreneur .

Münnich is team boss of the Münnich Motorsport racing team and owner of the internet service provider all-inkl.com . Münnich won a class of the German rallycross championship four times. From 2012 to 2014 he drove in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). In 2015 he started in the TCR International Series .

Racing career

Münnich began his motorsport career as a racing driver in autocross in 2005 . This year he competed in the German autocross championship. In 2006, Münnich switched to rallycross and started in the German rallycross championship. In 2007 he won the production car class in a VW Polo S1600 in this championship . In addition, Münnich took part in two GT races in the ADAC Procar series .

In 2008 Münnich switched to the touring car class of the German rallycross championship. After finishing fourth in the first season, he won this ranking in a Škoda Fabia T16 in 2009 . In 2010 Münnich competed again in the production car classification and won it in a Škoda Fabia RS1600. In addition, he was 15th in the first division of the FIA European Rallycross Championship . Münnich lives in Neusalza-Spremberg . His partner is Mandie August, who also competes in rallycross races for Team Münnich Motorsport. The two have two daughters.
