John Filippi (2014)

John Filippi (born February 27, 1995 in Bastia ) is a French racing driver . He competed in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) in 2014 and 2015 .

Career

Filippi began his motorsport career in 2007 in kart racing , in which he remained active until 2012. In 2012 Filippi made his debut in formula racing . For Equipe Palmyr he started in the single-seater V de V Challenge , an amateur racing series with older formula cars. He was 25th in the drivers' championship. In 2013 Filippi stayed in the single-seater V de V Challenge and switched to the Bossy Racing Team . He won eleven of 18 races and won the championship. In addition, he competed for RC Motorsport as a guest starter in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup .

In 2014 Filippi switched to professional racing and received a cockpit in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) at Campos Racing . He was driving an older TC2 class vehicle. He already scored points on the first race weekend. In the further course of the season he remained without points. He finished his debut season in 18th place in the world championship. In 2015 Filippi stayed with Campos Racing in the World Touring Car Championship. He received a current vehicle this year. As in the previous year, he was 18th in the drivers' championship.
