The Citroën C-AirLounge was a concept vehicle that Citroën presented in 2003 at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. The MPV was based on the contemporary Citroën C5 . At the time, it was planned to integrate a larger model above the Citroën Xsara Picasso into the model range. The C-AirLounge was supposed to give a first outlook and represent the future design line at Citroën Vans. Particularly striking was the low drag coefficient of just 0.26 despite a fully-fledged van with 5 and optionally 7 seats. A special feature was the panorama windshield that protruded into the roof and expanded the viewing angle. A blind was pulled out as a glare protection. To make room in the front seats, there was an electric parking brake and an automated and electrohydraulic six-speed manual gearbox with paddles on the steering wheel, which meant that gear and handbrake levers were no longer required. The steering wheel had a fixed steering wheel hub. The electronically controlled Hydractive suspension of the latest generation as well as the Michelin A Eole low-friction tires, which were still being tested at the time, were also used .

Ultimately, however, Citroën decided not to build its own series in the mid-range van. The danger was too high that they would mainly find potential buyers of the Citroën C8 and the production would not be worthwhile. Instead, it was decided, like most other manufacturers, for an additional, extended version of the planned Xsara Picasso successor model, the Citroën C4 Picasso, available with more seats and space . In the model known as the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso , built since 2006 , the interior concept and technology were largely adopted.
