The Karin was a concept vehicle that Citroën presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1980 . It was a coupé based on the upcoming Citroën BX . The design was done by Trevor Fiore, the Italian company Coggiola produced the structure. The Karin only had two wing doors on each side . There were only 3 front individual seats, with the driver sitting in the middle. All glass surfaces ran very steeply like a pyramid and there was only one roof surface in A3 size. The rear wheels were also covered for low fuel consumption.

In addition to front-wheel drive and the typical hydropneumatics borrowed from the Citroën CX , the Karin had a further developed dashboard with a round dashboard mounted parallel to the steering wheel and attached control satellites or push buttons as well as a telephone keypad and radio controls behind or under the steering wheel. The center console with a joystick as a selector lever for the automatic transmission was also innovative . The front was optically based on the Citroën SM .
