The Citroën Aircross Concept was a concept vehicle that Citroën first presented to the public in 2015 at Auto Shanghai . The company's new design line, presented for the first time in the Citroën C4 Cactus , was continued with the Aircross Concept. Basically, the concept vehicle is similar to the Cactus, but is larger, longer and wider. According to press releases, there should be an outlook on future self-developed SUVs from Citroën, such as a successor model for the Citroën C3 Aircross based on the Citroën C3 Picasso which, following the general trend, is to replace both models in 2017, as well as an SUV that has not yet been in the model range in the middle class based on the successor to the Citroën C5 .
The suicide doors will probably not be used in a production model , as will the interior with two 12-inch HD screens, one of which can be moved towards the front passenger. However, it is planned to install the loudspeakers and microphones in each seat in series models in the future in order to facilitate communication between the occupants.
The hybrid drive should also be used in the future. This is a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine with 218 hp and 95 hp electric motor and a purely electric range of 50 kilometers. The electric motor drives the rear wheels.
