The PSA group developed the C-Crosser together with its sister model Peugeot 4007 based on the Mitsubishi Outlander . The PSA models were manufactured by Mitsubishi in Japan, since 2008 the Outlander has been manufactured by the former Mitsubishi subsidiary Nedcar in the Netherlands.

The Citroën C-Crosser was presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show 2007 and came onto the German market in July 2007. In spring 2013, production of the C-Crosser was stopped.

Technical specifications

From the market launch, there was the C-Crosser with a new 2.2-liter diesel engine (HDi) (115 kW / 156 PS) with a particulate filter and six-speed manual transmission . The motor has a maximum torque of 380 Nm, which it automatically transmits to the front wheels or to all four wheels at the same time via an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch . From November 2007 there was also a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine (so-called "world engine") with 125 kW (170 PS) and 232 Nm torque, developed from the cooperation between Mitsubishi, Daimler-Chrysler and Hyundai ( GEMA ) , which has not been installed in the PSA models since the beginning of 2012, but is still used in the Mitsubishi Outlander. The car also has seven seats, with the third row of seats completely retractable in the trunk floor.
