The Opel Mokka B is a compact SUV from the PSA group. The vehicle is based on the Common Modular Platform and is offered in mainland Europe under the Opel brand . In the UK it is marketed as Vauxhall Mocha .

Model history

After production of the predecessor model Mokka A, which is around 12 centimeters longer, based on the Gamma II platform from GM Korea, ended in June 2019, Opel presented the Mokka B a year later, initially as a battery-powered Opel Mokka-e . Later, the manufacturer also wants to introduce conventionally powered versions with gasoline and diesel engines . The SUV should be available for order from late summer 2020, and deliveries should start in early 2021.

With the Mokka B, Opel heralds a new design language. In particular, the "Vizor" front section, based on the Opel Manta, is to adorn other Opel models in the future. Other features are also adopted from the Opel GT X Experimental design study presented in 2018 .

The Mokka B shares the technical basis with the Peugeot 2008 II and the DS 3 Crossback .

Technical specifications

The Mokka-e presented in June 2020 takes over the electric drive from the Opel Corsa-e . Since the frontal area and the mass are higher than the Corsa-e, the range according to WLTP drops to 322 km. The battery with a capacity of 50 kWh should be able to be recharged to up to 80 percent in 30 minutes on a 100 kW direct current column. The top speed is electronically limited to 150 km / h.

It is not yet known which petrol and diesel engines will be offered. In specialist magazines it is assumed that the 1.2-liter gasoline engines and 1.5-liter diesel engines used in the 2008 II and DS 3 Crossback are in question.
