The Opel Flextreme GT / E is the car manufacturer Opel developed concept vehicle of the upper middle class . The manufacturer presented the vehicle for the first time at the 80th Geneva Motor Show in 2010.

technology

When developing the vehicle, particular attention was paid to low air resistance ( c w value 0.22) and a low overall weight. The body was given flat and smooth lines and consists largely of carbon fiber reinforced plastics . It is driven by an electric motor powered by lithium-ion batteries . These allow a range of approx. 60 km. When the batteries are empty, a 1.4-liter combustion engine is switched on, which charges the batteries again using a generator. In this way a range of approx. 500 km can be achieved ( Voltec drive ). The average fuel consumption is then around 1.6 liters per 100 kilometers. The CO 2 emissions are less than 40 g / km. The Flextreme reaches a top speed of 200 km / h.
