The Opel 30/75 PS was a luxury class car that Adam Opel KG built from 1919 to 1924 as the successor to the 29/70 PS model .

Technology and history

The 30/75 hp was the last large luxury car that Opel built in Rüsselsheim. The predecessor was due to the war was discontinued at the end 1914th

Together with the smaller 21/55 hp model , it had the brand's first six-cylinder engine . The new in- line engine - the predecessor still had a block engine - had a displacement of 7793 cm³ and developed 80 hp (59 kW) at 1600 rpm. The engine power was transferred to the rear axle via a leather cone clutch, a manual four-speed gearbox and a cardan shaft with two joints. The top speed was 110 km / h.

The two rigid axles were suspended on semi-elliptical longitudinal leaf springs on the steel ladder frame. The service brake was designed as a band brake and acted on the transmission output shaft.

The 30/75 was available with three different bodies: a touring car and a Pullman limousine , each with seven seats, and a four-seater touring car.

In 1924, production of the 30/75 PS was stopped without a successor.
