The Opel Tech-1 Concept is a research car and concept vehicle from the German manufacturer Opel . It was presented at the International Motor Show (IAA) in 1981. The vehicle is based on the production vehicle Opel Kadett D and its GM-T platform (1979) ( "T-Car" ). The design comes from Erhard Schnell .

The design aimed for a record in aerodynamics. The drag coefficient ( c w value) reached 0.235, to which the panoramic window contributed. The face was the forerunner of the Opel Omega A 1986, of the Opel Rekord E followed. The hubcaps went into series production.

inner space

All controls except the steering wheel, gear lever and pedals were push buttons.
