The Opel Zafira Life , on the British Isles Vauxhall Vivaro Life, is a van presented in January 2019 by the German automaker Opel . The model is largely identical to the Peugeot Traveler , the Citroën Spacetourer and the Toyota ProAce Verso . The van replaces the Opel Zafira C ; the corresponding commercial vehicle variant Vivaro C solves the Vivaro B from.
background
In contrast to the previous models Zafira A, Zafira B and Zafira C, the Opel Zafira Life is no longer a compact van , but is significantly larger in all three dimensions. This means that up to nine people can also travel. The Zafira Life is available in three versions: 4.61 m long ( S ), 4.96 m long ( M ) and 5.31 m long ( L ). The Opel Combo Life in lengths of 4.40 m and 4.75 m, each with 5 or 7 seats, has been a compact van from Opel in the PSA Group since 2019. In the UK it is sold as Vauxhall Vivaro Life .
After the presentation of the battery-electric Vivaro-e in November 2019, Opel also presented the Zafira Life with the drive train from the Opel Corsa-e in June 2020 . It should go on sale at the end of 2020. Two different battery sizes are available. The 50 kWh variant enables a range according to WLTP of 230 km, the 75 kWh variant 330 km.
production
The Zafira Life is both the PSA -Werk Valenciennes its predecessor and how Opel Vivaro B in English Luton built. The Zafira Life is built for the Russian market in the PSA plant in Kaluga .
Commercial vehicle variant: Vivaro
The commercial vehicle variant is the Vivaro C . It is available as a panel van, a double cabin combi version and a chassis (not in Germany).
Technical specifications
The Zafira Life is offered with a 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter diesel engine . These produce between 75 kW (102 PS) and 130 kW (177 PS). A version with a purely electric drive should also be available from 2021.
Opel CEO Lohscheller announced at the IAA 2019 that Opel would also offer a version with a fuel cell for the Zafira Life . That would make it the first Opel vehicle with a fuel cell. The time of the market launch is still unknown as of 2019.
