The Opel Corsa Moon

The Opel Corsa Moon was a design study of the Opel Corsa B without series ambitions. The car was unveiled in 1997 as part of the presentation of the new facelift of the Opel Corsa in the Canary Islands .

Aim of the Corsa "Moon" study

The Opel Corsa Moon was designed as a pure "show car". It was intended to visually represent the “progressiveness of the series” for the press. For this purpose, the car received futuristic-looking attachments, including two satellite dishes, solar cells and the characteristic “moon tires” made of steel mesh. The elaborate wheels were the biggest eye-catcher on the Moon, also with widened wheel arches and an additional bumpers from steel tube equipped.

In the interior everything remained the same, including the normal equipment of the Swing version, in which the seats were covered with the titanium gray fabric called Circus .

Today the unique piece is in good condition in the Opel factory collection in Rüsselsheim and is sometimes presented at exhibitions.
