Opel Insignia

The Insignia (from Latin insigne = the coat of arms / badge) is a middle class passenger car from the Rüsselsheim car manufacturer Opel . In 2008 he replaced the Vectra C and Signum models .

The Insignia A is based on the GM Epsilon 2 platform and was built in three body versions between 2008 and 2017. The second generation Insignia B has been produced as a Grand Sport sedan and Sports Tourer estate since the beginning of 2017 .

In most European countries, the Insignia is available under the name Opel Insignia . In the UK , the Insignia is sold as the Vauxhall Insignia .

Registration numbers

Since the market launch in 2008 up to and including December 2019, 262,024 Insignia have been newly registered in the Federal Republic of Germany. 2009 was the most successful sales year with 36,347 units.
