al-Aʿla

Al-Aʿla ( Arabic الأعلى al-Aʿlā  'The Most High') is the 87th sura of the Koran , it contains 19 verses . The sura is one of the early parts of the Qur'an that wasrevealedin Mecca (610–615). Their title refers to the first verse.

The sura recalls the omnipotence of the Creator and his work in nature. She also encourages Mohammed to deliver his message, even if it is not accepted by all people. The two final verses 18 and 19 mention the "earlier leaves of Abraham and Moses ", which are also discussed in sura 20 (verse 133) and sura 53 (verse 36-37) and refer to the book owners .
