al-Fajr (sura)

Al-Fajr ( Arabic الفجر al-Fajr  'The Dawn') is the 89th sura of the Koran , it contains 30 verses . The sura is one of the early parts of the Qur'an that wasrevealedin Mecca (610–615). Their title refers to the first verse.

In terms of content, the sura can be divided into two parts of roughly equal length. The first part, up to verse 14, recalls the fate of the unbelieving peoples after a few introductory oaths: , d , Thamud and the people of Pharaoh . In connection with the ʿĀd, the sunken city of Iram is mentioned in verses 6-8 . The second part from verse 14 accuses the Meccans of disregarding the weak, and threatens them with hell as God's punishment, before the “ soul that has found rest” ( an-nafs al-muṭmaʾinna ) in the final four verses. is addressed.
