al-ʿAsr

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Al-Asr ( Arabic العصر, DMG al-ʿaṣr  'The afternoon'; ,The time'; 'The Age') is the 103rd sura of the Koran and with only three verses one of the shortest.

Its name is ambiguous: it refers to the afternoon, the evening and a larger period of time. The Koran exegesis provides different versions of this.

The surah urges righteousness and patience.

translation

The translations vary between “At the afternoon” (e.g. Paret, Rasul) and “At the time” (e.g. al-Azhar ).

In the name of the merciful and gracious God.
1. In the afternoon!
2. Man is definitely harmed (with his ungodly actions),
3. except for those who believe and do what is right and who recommend each other (as a legacy) to adhere to the truth (or: to the law ?) and to be patient. "
