At-Takāthur ( Arabic التكاثر, DMG at-Takāthur  'The addiction to have more') is the 102nd sura of the Koran , it contains 8 verses . The sura is one of the early parts of the Qur'an that was revealed in Mecca (610–615). Their title refers to the first verse.

The competition for more children, wealth, more support among the tribes or more success in trade distracts people so much that they even visit the graves. This can be understood to mean that even the deceased relatives are included in the competition or that the competition continues until everyone has died and lies in the graves. Three times in a row the people who are attached to this world are warned about the punishment of hell. In his Quran commentary on al-kashschaf 'an haqa'iq at-tanzil  /الكشاف عن حقائق التنزيل / al-kaššāf ʿan ḥaqāʾiqi 't-tanzīl  /' The Exposition of the Truths of Revelation 'explains Zamachscharī the closing verse: On that day you will be responsible for your comfortable life as follows: A distinction is made between those who receive the gifts of God in gratitude enjoy, but not completely surrender to them, and those who make the good life the only center of their efforts. The latter will be held accountable by God.
