al-Ghāschiya

Al-Ghāschiya ( Arabic الغاشية al-Ghāschiya  'Who will cover up') is the 88th sura of the Koran , it contains 26 verses . The sura is one of the early parts of the Qur'an that wasrevealedin Mecca (610–615). Their title refers to the first verse.

The term that will be covered also appears in sura 12 (verse 107) and refers to the "all-covering catastrophe". It is about the hour of the resurrection and the last judgment . The first seven verses describe hell as God's punishment; verses 8-16 describe paradise as a reward for the righteous. From verse 17 the omnipotence of God is emphasized, who created camels, the sky, the mountains and the earth.
