al-Lail

Al-Lail ( Arabic الليل al-Lail  'The Night') is the 92nd sura of the Koran , it contains 21 verses . The sura is one of the parts of the Qur'an thatwere revealedin the first Meccan period (610–615). Their title refers to the first verse.

After introductory oaths by night, by day and by the differences between men and women, the reward of the righteous and the punishment of the wicked are described. The importance of giving alms is particularly emphasized (see Zakāt ).
