This calligraphic fragment contains the Koran verse Sura 14: 7 in Thuluth script above . This is followed by praises of God in Persian Nas-chi and Tauqi script.

Ibrahim ( Arabic إبراهيم Ibrāhīm  ' Abraham ') is the 14th sura of the Koran , it contains 52 verses . The sura belongs to the parts of the Koran thatwere revealedin the third Meccan period (620–622), i.e. shortly before the emigration to Medina . Its title refers to verse 35 in which Abraham is mentioned.

After the introductory basmala and three mysterious letters , the sura consists of a number of different short sections. They revolve around the topic of the sending and preaching of earlier prophets , the resistance of the respective addressees of the message, the importance of gratitude and the description of God as judge and creator. It is assumed by many Muslim authors that verses 28 to 30 refer to the defeat of the Meccans at the Battle of Badr in 624, so that these verses should be dated to the Medinan period; but this interpretation is not mandatory. In verse 39, Ishmael and Isaac are named as descendants of the aged Abraham in response to his calling .
