Al-Mujadala ( Arabic المجادلة al-Muǧādala  'The Quarrel') is the 58th sura of the Koran , it contains 22 verses . It wasproclaimedin Medina , the title refers to the first verse.

The first four verses settle a point of contention in connection with the "back saying" - the formula "You shall be like my mother's back" was uttered in ancient Arab society by men who wanted to divorce their wives . The remaining verses were written in a situation in which opposition and hypocrites were causing unrest in the ranks of the church . You can here the time after the defeat in the Battle of Uhud in 625, or to the grave battle think of 627th In this context, verses 7-10 warn against “confidential talks” involving “sin, transgression, and disobedience to the Messenger ”. Such confidential conversations "are from Satan ." The requirement in verse 12 that alms should be given before a confidential conversation with the prophet is withdrawn in the next verse. In verse 19 the term Ḥizb asch-Shaiṭān appears  /حزب الشيطان / 'Party of Satan' and in verse 22 the term appears حزب الله / Ḥizb Allaah in the sense of “party of God”, these are the believers to whom God promises paradise after death .
