The early parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan in 2016 took place on March 20, 2016. 98 members of the Mäschilis , the lower house of the Kazakh parliament, were elected. The OSCE found that the election did not meet democratic standards.

Parties

A total of six parties ran for parliamentary elections. The presidential party Nur Otan , the Democratic Party Ak Zhol , the Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan , the Democratic People's Patriotic Party Auyl , the National Social Democratic Party and the party Birlik . Ak Schol and the Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan are classified as loyal to the government.
