history
The Party of Patriots of Kazakhstan was founded by Ghani Qassymov and officially registered on August 4, 2000. In the parliamentary elections in 2004 she took part in a Kazakh election for the first time, but with a share of around 0.6 percent could not send a member of the Maschilis , the lower house of the Kazakh parliament.
At a party congress on September 26, 2005, the party decided to support the candidacy of Nursultan Nazarbayev in the upcoming presidential election and not to nominate its own candidate. In the 2007 parliamentary elections , the party was able to increase its result slightly to 0.8 percent, but still clearly failed to pass the seven percent hurdle . For the 2011 presidential election , the party nominated its party leader Ghani Qassymow, who came in second with around two percent of the vote. In the 2012 parliamentary election , the Patriots' party again received around 0.8 percent of the vote.
At an extraordinary party congress on August 29, 2015, Ghani Qassymov resigned as party chairman. Tolymbek Ghabdilaschimow was elected as the new chairman . On September 5, 2015, the party decided to merge with the social democratic party Auyl .
