The Rio Grande bizarre is a species of bizarre ( Bidens ) in the sunflower family (Asteraceae).
features
The Rio Grande two-toothed tooth is an annual plant that reaches heights of 40 to 70 centimeters. At least the lower leaves are pinnate, with stalked leaflets, these are incised almost to the midrib and more or less strongly serrated. The end section is lanceolate to linear and pointed, the lateral sections are narrower. The stem is square. The few heads are terminal and 8 to 10 millimeters wide. The 8 outer bracts are linear, ciliate and 4 to 6 millimeters long. The rays are whitish, rudimentary or absent.
Flowering time is probably from July to October.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 48.
Occurrence
The Rio Grande two-tooth is originally found in Colombia , Ecuador , Bolivia , Peru , Brazil , Paraguay , Uruguay and Argentina , Chile and in Cuba . It is naturalized in Spain, France, Italy and Switzerland.
