The Opel GT X Experimental is a concept study by the German car manufacturer Opel from 2018.
overview
The show car was presented by Opel in 2018. The "X" stands for SUVs . With the study, Opel wants to show what the Opel design should look like in the mid-2020s. The SUV class was chosen because Opel wants to make it more environmentally friendly with a lightweight construction and thus achieve a lower ecological footprint . Therefore, the vehicle is also equipped with an electric motor . The battery should have a capacity of 50 kWh , which can also be charged inductively. The battery capacity should allow a range of 300 kilometers . The car should master level 3 of autonomous driving .
As the four doors open in opposite directions, there is no B-pillar . In addition, a panoramic windscreen is installed that extends over the entire roof. The study hereby engages the Opel Mokka B before. As with the Opel GT Concept , the side mirrors have been saved on the Opel GT X Experimental and replaced by small cameras. The fittings have been replaced by a curved display. Opel calls this type of display a "pure panel". A head-up display was also used in the study. The driver's seat is automatically adjusted by a camera above the steering wheel. Thanks to a turntable, the Opel logo always remains horizontal. The Opel Blitz is also illuminated.
The radiator grille of the concept car has been redesigned and is to become the new design standard for Opel models in the future.
