The Peugeot 208 II is a small car from the French vehicle manufacturer PSA Peugeot Citroën . He is the successor to the Peugeot 208 I . The 208 II was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019 and has been sold on the European market since June 2019. For the first time, the 208 model is only available with five doors. The electric version with the name e-208 followed in early 2020.

The 208 II, like the DS 3 Crossback , which is based on the same Common Modular Platform (CMP) , is built in the PSA plant in Trnava in Slovakia and Kenitra in Morocco. For the first time, it is no longer being built in Poissy , France . The e-208 is produced in Trnava , Slovakia . The Opel Corsa F uses the same platform and technology, but it is manufactured in the Opel Zaragoza plant .

Furnishing

The 208 II is available in five equipment lines: Life , Active, Allure, Allure incl. GT-Line package and GT . The highest equipment line GT is only available with an electric motor. Depending on the equipment, the display on the center console has a size of 5, 7 or 10 inches. An optionally available, digital cockpit is available for the first time and has 3D technology with which important information can be displayed in the foreground.

e-208

A battery-powered version has been available under the name e-208 since the beginning of 2020 . The same technology is used as in the Opel Corsa-e . A battery capacity of 50 kWh (gross) and a range of 340 kilometers according to WLTP are specified.

Technical specifications

Three gasoline engines , a diesel engine and an electric motor will be available for the market launch .

All models are driven by the front wheels. The smallest gasoline engine is linked to a five-speed manual transmission , all other combustion engines are supplied with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission . The permanent magnet synchronous motor of the e-208 has a 1-stage reduction gear.
