Data protection and data security ( DuD ) is a German-language specialist journal that deals with topics of data protection and data security . It has been published by Gabler Verlag since 1977 (until 1983 under the name Data Protection and Data Backup ). The current subtitle is Law and Security in Information Processing and Communication . The frequency of publication is monthly with a thematic focus per issue as well as fixed categories. The print run in autumn 2013 is 2,400 copies, the actual circulation 1,928 copies and the subscription edition 1,122 copies.
The orientation of the magazine is interdisciplinary (law and technology), with legal aspects being a focus. Topics contributions include the protection of personal data , security technology , telecommunications law , national and international regulations and general assessments of application areas and areas of conflict in information and communication technology .
