The magazine for copyright and media law (abbreviated: ZUM ) is a monthly legal journal on copyright , publishing , broadcasting , press and telemedia law .

The magazine was founded in 1957 by Georg Roeber under the name Film und Recht (FuR). Originally only intended as an information service for members and sponsors of the Institute for Copyright and Media Law , it quickly developed into a respected body for all legal issues relating to copyright and media law. Since 1985, the title ZUM - Journal for Copyright and Media Law has taken this variety of topics into account.

Every month, authors from academia and practice extensively discuss current developments and problems in copyright and media law in articles and reviews. The magazine attaches particular importance to the publication of the latest case law. Since 1997, the judicial section of the ZUM has been supplemented by the monthly ZUM Judicial Service (ZUM-RD).

The magazine is aimed at lawyers, authorities and companies that are active in the fields of broadcasting, video, sound carriers, film, books, press, online services and telecommunications. The ZUM appears in an edition of 1900 copies and is published by Nomos Verlag in Baden-Baden. The editorial office is located at the Institute for Copyright and Media Law in Munich. For the editor Michael Grunberger and Nadine Klass responsible.
