The Daugava Stadium was a football stadium in the Latvian city of Daugavpils .
history
The sports facility, built on the outskirts of the town in the mid-2000s, served FC Dinaburg as the venue for its home games in Virslīga , the highest Latvian league. Before, and sometimes for more important games, the club had the Celtnieks Stadium in the city center . The stadium was in the west of Daugavpils, near the famous citadel near the banks of the Daugava . The stadium, which could seat more than 3,000 spectators, consisted of a main stand with seats and a building on the opposite stand, in which the changing rooms and boxes were housed. After the dissolution of FC Dinaburg as a result of uncovered match-fixing in 2009, FC Daugava Daugavpils temporarily used the stadium, after its forced relegation due to irregularities at the end of 2014, the sports facility was later dismantled.
