Davaadorj Baldorj

Davaadorj Baldorj (born October 7, 1957 in Ulaanbaatar ) is a Mongolian diplomat .

Life

He attended high school and was delegated to the Karl Marx University of Leipzig in the GDR after the tenth grade to study economic cybernetics . After the first semester, he switched to the field of economics and statistics. After graduating, he worked for the Mongolian Ministry of Food and Light Industry. In 1981 he took a job in a carpet factory in Ulaanbaatar, first as a locksmith, then as a shift supervisor and finally as an engineer. In 1986 he became a civil servant in the State Committee for Economic Relations with Foreign Countries, which sent him to Germany to do an internship in 1990 . There he attended a course at Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt am Main . From 1990 to 1994 he was trade and economic attaché at the Mongolian embassy in Berlin.

From 1996 he was employed in the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Initially, he worked there as a consultant for Germany, then as deputy department head for trade and economics. In 1999 he was sent to Berlin as counselor for trade and economy and worked there until 2003. This was followed by a job in Ulaanbaatar as a management consultant. In 2006 he was again counselor. In November 2009 he became the Mongolian ambassador to Germany.

In 2013, money laundering allegations were made against him . From January to October 2012, his account received five payments totaling € 201,800. Davaadorj Baldorj denied the allegations, stating that they were personal means of living and buying cars. A preliminary investigation initiated by the German public prosecutor's office was closed because of his diplomatic immunity.

Davaadorj Baldorj is married and has a son and a daughter.
