Dave Goulson
Dave Goulson (born 1965 ) is an English biologist . He is a professor at the University of Sussex and is known as a specialist in bionomy and the protection of bumblebees .
Career
Goulson grew up in Shropshire .
He studied at the University of Oxford and was at the Oxford Brookes University with a thesis on butterflies doctorate .
From 1995 worked as a lecturer at the University of Southampton , where his research on bumblebees began. In 2006 he became a professor at the University of Stirling before moving to the University of Sussex in 2010.
In 2013 he published the book A Sting in the Tale (German: And she flies ), with which he was nominated for the Samuel Johnson Prize .

- 2017: APEX Award from the British Academy, Royal Academy of Engineering and Royal Society
Bumblebee Conservation Trust
In 2006, Goulson founded the Bumblebee Conservation Trust , a nonprofit that helps protect bumblebees.
