David "Dave" Hickson (born October 30, 1929 in Salford , † July 8, 2013 ) was an English football player .

Career

In 1948 Hickson came to his heart club Everton FC . After only half a year with the "Toffees" he had to do his military service and kept fit with the military team. In 1951 he made his debut for Everton FC. The center forward's strengths were his shooting power, headball strength and his athletic body. In 1955 he moved to Aston Villa in Birmingham for £ 17,500. After only twelve missions he went to Huddersfield Town for two years , from where he returned to Everton FC in 1957. After little success, he played from 1959 to 1961 with local rivals Liverpool FC and from 1961 he let his career end at Cambridge City, Bury FC and the Tranmere Rovers . In an interview about Everton FC, Hickson said he would break all his bones and give up his life for his club . Later he worked as a guide for tourists and took them through the home of the Toffees - Goodison Park .
