Dave Schärer
Dave Schärer (actually David Henry Schärer; born October 15, 1942 ) is a former British hurdler who specialized in the 400 meter distance .
In 1970 he started for England at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh with his electronically timed best time of 51.17 m fifth. At the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1971 , he was eliminated in the preliminary stages.
He set his hand-stopped best time of 50.8 s on June 26, 1971 in London .
