David Chung (football official)

David Chung (born July 13, 1962 in Malaysia ) was President of the Papua New Guinean Football Association from 2004 to 2018 .

In 1984 he emigrated to Papua New Guinea and was elected president of the national football association in 2004. Instead of Reynald Temarii , he was elected President of the Oceanic Football Confederation (OFC) in 2011 and was appointed Vice-President of the FIFA Executive Committee on June 1 .

In April 2018, he resigned as President of the OFC and the Papua New Guinean Football Association for personal reasons. An OFC committee was preparing an investigation into allegations of corruption against Chung. Chung was finally banned by FIFA for six and a half years in March 2019 for corruption and acting in a conflict of interest.
