David Dicks

David Griffiths Dicks (born October 6, 1978 ) is an Australian sailor . He became known for being the youngest person at the time to circumnavigate the world non-stop and with one hand .

For his record, David Dicks entered the port of Fremantle in Australia on February 26, 1996 and returned there after circumnavigating the world on November 17, 1996. For this circumnavigation he used an S & S 34 baptized Seaflight , as it was also used by Jon Sanders , Jesse Martin and Jessica Watson for their circumnavigations. When he arrived on November 17, David Dicks was 18 years and 41 days old.

In 1999 Dicks received the Medal of the Order of Australia and in 2000 the Australian Sports Medal .
